Christmas Party!!!!

OMG we think we had about 300 in attendance! We set up 225 places and then had to pull out more tables. You can imagine the panic in the kitchen! It was the miracle of the loaves and the fishes. I wish I could comment on the skit and Santa but I was busy out of sight the whole time. Some of you bloggers need to leave a comment on the party. I already know the food was a little scant, but other than that??

3 November 2009

The Halloween party was a huge success. One party guest commented to Beth Rosenlof that "this party rocks!"

The winner of the Chili Cook-off is Rachael Thomas, a late entry and first time chili maker walked away with the $300 First Prize! The night was even more eventful for the Thomas' because little Allison took the blue ribbon for the "Most Beautiful" costume. Everyone was really happy for the Thomas Family.

The second place ribbon and $70 gift card to Chili's was won by Cami and Alex Espinosa. Tiffany Rigby (who is an absolutely wonderful cook) took home the third place ribbon and a $30 gift card to Chili's.

We can't be thankful enough to our esteemed judges, Susan Zubiate, Paul Jackson, and Paul's work colleague, also named Paul, who really had their work cut out for them. They took their job very seriously and we appreciate them, although they will most likely never want to eat another bite of chili as long as they live.

The three other costume winners were a very scary Sharon Fuhriman, a beautiful little baby orange butterfly, and a very hilarious little baby Gomez Addams, (from the Addam's Family.)
The games were all a big hit, but I think the Spook Alley was the most popular. Lizzie Wheeler said that even she was scared some of the time and she was just working the door!

The night was topped off with the Trunk or Treat. The most creative, I thought, was Paul and Kristyn Jackson's front door, complete with welcome mat, porch light and doorbell. Don Pack may be going to jail soon because he had a dead cowboy in the back of his car, and Brent Larsen is surely in trouble with his neighbors because he apparantly killed and buried the last dog that pooped in his yard. (Check the posted photos)

All in all I think everyone had a great time.

14 October 2009

October 31, is fastly approaching!!!! The goblins come out at 5:30 so don't be late. If you are participating in the Chili Cook-off bring your chili in a crock-pot if possible. The games are being organized- so far there will be face/arm painting and a relay race, Plinko, Bean bag toss, a spook alley and a golf game. I'm sure more games will materialize.

This year's menu will consist of Chili and hot dogs, or the best chili dog if you choose to build it. We will have the fixins for you if that is what you are in the mood for. Also, dessert will be halloweenish cupcakes, white or chocolate - your choice.

The night winds up with Trunk or Treat so bring you car and your candy and make sure the kids have fun.

Oh and Hey, have you heard about the Door Prize? Starting with the Halloween Party at every Activity we will be giving away a really good door prize. I'm not talking about stuff that no one wants, nope, I'm talking about some good, useful, desirable stuff. Before every activity the door prize will be advertised in "The Refrigerator News" and in the binders that go around to the different auxiliaries.

Be sure to post that you visited this website, you might win a batch of Sister Floyd's version of Mrs. Field's cookies.
